The founders' original vision for the National Museum of Dance was completed with the construction of the Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Riggi Theater in 2014. This stunning forty-five-seat black box theater is located in the northwest wing of the Museum, adjacent to the Museum's permanent installation Dancers in Film. The Riggi Theater hosts video installations, film screenings, and lectures, as well as opera, music, comedy, drama, and dance performances. It can be rented for performing arts residencies, rehearsal space, and a range of private events. Flexible seating in the Theater allows for audience capacity of up to eighty-five. The entire Northwest Gallery, the site of both the Riggi Theater and Dancers in Film, can be rented for small events such as book signings, cocktail parties, and receptions.
